    1. I was going to go into some detail, tearing into the exchange on page 15 (of the paperback), about why this was off-putting enough for me to abandon it. But I felt bad about it even before I'd written it. I've come to recognize that as a sign that I'm probably just being egotistical and not helping anybody. Suffice it to say that I bounced off of the writing and that I felt like the internal commentary of the characters contradicted the content of the scene, events, or dialogue. It was enough di [...]

    2. This sweet romance hit me in the feels. Thomas was the type of hero every woman could fall for. Strong. Caring. Sexy. Yazmine's family struggles tugged at my heartstrings. This was a gorgeous debut. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

    3. I picked up this book after a couple of people recommended it to me as a romance featuring a single dad. I did not expect what turned out to be an emotional roller coaster. When this book first started, I didn't think I'd like it at all. I was almost ready to give up after the first chapter because of some major instalust. While I could understand the instant attraction between Tomás and Yazmine, I couldn't understand Tomás already thinking about what it would be like to come home and see her t [...]

    4. A copy was provided by the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest reviewThis was a totally satisfying contemporary romance. Perfectly paced, hit every beat exactly right. It was a joy to read, start to finish. The main characters have wonderful chemistry, and the conflict was very well drawn and had my holding my breath at certain points. This is one of the best romances I've read in 2017, and its going on my list of comfort rereads. His Perfect Partner has a couple tropes that I [...]

    5. The author of this book stated in the beginning that this is her first book. I must say she did a wonderful job. A story full of joy, sadness, the yearning for love, and for me the love of a father for his daughter or daughters. Yaz, or Yazmine Fernandez is the oldest of three daughters. She has been home teaching dance in the same studio that she grew up dancing now for two years. Two years ago her father was diagnosed with cancer and it coincided with her plight in New York and she came home. [...]

    6. This was very sweet! I did occasionally want to knock heads together, but I got why the hero and heroine were resisting forming an actual relationship. Maria was an adorable plot moppet. I am really looking forward to the other books in the series.(No sex in this one, in case that either turns people onto the book or off it. I know it matters to some.)

    7. His Perfect Partner by Priscilla Oliveras is the author’s debut romance and the first story in her sweet romance series Matched to Perfection, about a group of Latina sisters who find love in unexpected places.Yazmine Fernandez is a dance teacher at a local center, but used to live in New York and spent time on Broadway. She’s back home in Chicago with her sisters because her father is dying of cancer. She believes that she should be pursuing a dance career because it’s what everyone expec [...]

    8. His Perfect Partner by Priscilla Oliveras feels authentically contemporary to the 21st c. with its distinctively American blend of a family's culture of origin with the commonplace elements of mainland U.S. society. Yaz and Tomas dance back and forth in an engaging path toward commitment. Portraying Latinx male characters of various ages and social classes as devoted family men who have healthy relationships with their daughters also resonates as essentially true in ways that are often underrepr [...]

    9. This was a good book. I was so happy that I won it and started it as soon as it arrived as I loved the cover. This story I was hooked on as I had not been reading long and then realized I was done reading the book. It has sass, maybe yes maybe no and so much more. This is another author who I will be reading more of as she hit a ball out to the outfield with this book.

    10. Review: HIS PERFECT PARTNER (Matched to Perfection) by Priscilla Oliveras wp/p3d0RZ-9ZjPublication Date: September 26, 2017Genre: Contemporary RomanceReviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ DonnaRated: 3.5 StarsThis was a lovely debut novel with a Latin flair. Yaz and Tomás’s romance was a sweet and endearing slice of life, where each of them grappled with real issues and desires that we can all relate to. Tomás’s little girl added a fun tenderness to the story, as did Yazmine’s family. A nice [...]

    11. 3.75 starsFor a debut novel, this is pretty much A+. I love Yazmine and her family; I love her relationship with her father and two sisters, I love how tight they are with each other. It took a while for me to warm up to Tomas, but his kid Maria is so adorable I want to adopt her. The pacing of the novel is slow but I didn't mind it much because we get to see more buildup in the relationships between Tomas and Yazmine's family, and Yazmine and Maria, and Tomas and Yazmine themselves. I love that [...]

    12. Puerto Rican heroine + Mexican-American hero in a hate to love romance? Sign me up!So, I really enjoyed this story and read it all in one sitting. I think what brought me down a bit was that I felt the drama between the two MCs felt too drawn out? I felt like they kept falling into the same issues which could've been resolved with a nice conversation or two. Also, Tomás took me a while to like, which I will definitely flesh out more in my review. Really loved all the family aspects and teared u [...]

    13. His Perfect Partner is a great little book to read if you want a family romance and sweet love. The author did a nice job with the characters and the romance relationship was slow and sweet. I'm totally okay with this as it's more believable at times. There were some beautiful family moments with father and daughter and then some sadness too. But it all worked into a story I would recommend to anyone. Thank you to Net Galley for a copy of this book.

    14. I think this was shaping up to be a nice romance/story, but it just wasn't working for me. Reminded me of Susan mallery or someone like that in style Something just wasn't clicking.

    15. I'm still trying to figure out my thoughts on this one. I liked the writing. I liked the general story. Yet I was also more than a bit, well, bored by it. Something was missing, something that kept me from being fully engaged with the story. Will I read the next in the series? Sure. I'm not writing Oliveras off yet, not by a long shot! :)Trigger warning: Cancer/loss of a parent.~ * ~ * ~ * ~ I will be talking about the book on my next Whatcha Reading? podcast which will go up on TBQ's Book Palace [...]

    16. I'm a sucker for dance movies and dance stories. This romance has all the feels plus a heavily focused family drama, and I believe the sibling of the heroine are getting their own books in the series. A great debut!

    17. Fantastic fun read!!! Love these characters and can't wait to read Her Perfect Affair!!! I definitely recommend His Perfect Partner!!!! :)

    18. Tomas Garcia is a man doing his best to balance his professional and personal lives. However, being so laser-focused on his career, it seems he's missing more and more time with his daughter. Yet, he's determined to do better starting with learning the moves Yazmine Fernandez is teaching in her class for the Christmas father/daughter routine. But the more time Tomas spends with Yazmine, the more he wants her in his life. Will he be able to convince her to take a chance on him or will her desire [...]

    19. What you get here, my fellow romance book loving friends, is clearly spelled out in the synopsis. You definitely feel the magnetic pull between Yazmine and Tomas, the main couple, as they get to know each other and dance around their attraction. However, instead of focusing on the beautiful music they could make together as a couple, they listen to the non-stop, negative inner voices in their heads convincing them it would never work between them.If you prefer a romantic read where the language [...]

    20. This review is of “His Perfect Partner”, book #1 in the “Matched to Perfection” series by Priscilla Oliveras. The story takes place in the town of Oakton, Illinois. It is here, one night, that a father-daughter dance rehearsal is taking place at Hanson’s Academy of Dance. Leading the class is Yazmine Fernandez, the heroine of the book. Yazmine returned home to Oakton to take care of her father, Reynaldo, due to his health issues. (Yazmine’s mother, Marta, passed some time earlier. Yaz [...]

    21. His Perfect Partner is a light-hearted, fun, and sassy first-in-series novel. I really enjoyed reading this story about a professional dancer meeting a single dad. The importance of family and striving to reach your own happiness are the main themes of this book. I especially loved that this story featured Hispanic main characters, and the author did a wonderful job in sprinkling the language and culture throughout the story. All of the Spanish phrases were translated in a unique way that felt s [...]

    22. Yazmine Fernandez has always believed in "family first", so she's not impressed by busy executive Tomas Garcia's being MIA from his young daughter's father/daughter dance practice. She's got enough on her mind with caring for her ailing father while focusing on trying to get her New York dance career back on track. But the handsome ad exec and his adorable daughter Maria are making it hard for Yazmine to keep focused.Tomas is hesitant to get involved with dating a woman focused on her career to [...]

    23. A fresh, new voice.Yazmine Fernandez intends to return to New York and make it as a dancer on the Broadway stage. The only thing holding her in suburban Chicago is her father. Soon he will be given a clean bill of health and she’ll be gone. Tomas Garcia is doing his best, but overcoming workaholic habits is difficult. When his young daughter’s dance teacher lays down the rules to participate in the father-daughter dance at the holiday recital he does not suspect the changes ahead.Ms. Olivera [...]

    24. I don't normally read contemporary romance, but I'd heard good things about this book, and when I had to put it away at the library, the shelf was already too full, so I thought I'd give it a try. The romance in this book was nice - I really liked Yazmine, the dancer who didn't know how to balance her career and family. I warmed up to Tomas, the workaholic ad exec. What had me getting up at 5am to finish this book, though, as Yasmine's family coming together around her father's cancer diagnosis [...]

    25. That cover is adorable, even if I wasn't crazy about the story inside. I couldn't connect with either of the characters - the dad who feels compelled to make obscene amounts of money and work long hours to provide for his daughter, or the idiot dancer who thinks that she has a better chance of success being a Broadway backup dancer than running a teaching studio. And the writing, particularly the exposition, sometimes felt clunky. But the idea of meeting up through a daddy-daughter dance class t [...]

    26. I received an arc of this book as part of a giveaway.Priscilla does a great job of introducing each character and entwining each personality. She created a strong bond between family members to show the importance of family in the good times and the hard times. The love connection between Yazmine and Tomas is magnetic. Tomas' daughter was so adorable and the connection she has with Yazmine is wonderful. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a sweet romance with a family dynamic. I am [...]

    27. There is so much love in this book that you'll finish it and feel good about life for awhile. The main characters are delightful. The secondary characters are wonderfully drawn and detailed. Tomás' daughter, Maria, is much more than a juvenile prop to move the story along, which sometimes is the unfortunate fate that happens to kids I'm books. I didn't want to leave this family and i can't wait for the next book.

    28. A moving contemporary read that had all the feels. This book kept me up two nights past 3am and had me thinking about it during the day. That in itself speaks volumes. A wonderful debut for Priscilla Oliveras. Our heroine Yazmine is the oldest sister in a charming family. I imagine we'll be seeing more of them in books to come!

    29. This was a very sweet story. Yazmine Fernandez has put her career on hold to come home to the suburbs of Chicago to take care of her father who is struggling with cancer. She is the oldest of three sisters, one is in college in Edwardsville, Illinois- Southern Illinois College. The other sister is finishing her masters at a different Illinois College.Yazmine had dreams of being a famous ballet dancer but while taking care of her father back in Chicago she is teaching ballet to young children. Th [...]
