    1. I received this in exchange for an honest review from Audiobook Blast and S. Lee Benedict. The Heart Thief is was certainly a surprising listen! Right from the opening chapter I was pulled in and there were so many twists and turns that I had a hard time putting it aside. The Heart Thief follows Ezra Keene, and a few adults, as they slowly learn the truth of their sleepy town and what is behind a string of gruesome murders. I knew right away I’d either really enjoy this one or hate it entirely, [...]

    2. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. This is a fantasy book about a teen named Ezra. It is full of action and adventure i would recommend this book to anyone who loves reading a good fantasy book =)

    3. I was able to get a free ebook in exchange for my honest review from We ❤️ YA Books.I was given a privilege to read Heart Thief which isn't quite what I expected it to be. When you hear the words "heart thief" I'm sure your mind starts to wander beyond its limits, implicating the vague & metaphoric meaning of heart, thief and all the words that's in between. But no, it wasn't all about flying or falling or the butterflies in your stomach or heart break & tears you shed just by believ [...]

    4. Parts of this review are specificity for the Audible Audiobook version. "I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via AudiobookBlast dot com.”The Heart Thief: The Rhapp's Barren Triptych, Volume 1 written by S. Lee Benedict and narrated by R. C. Quartermaine is speculative fiction at it's best. Mr. Benedict does an excellent job fusing elements of Pulp Horror, Science Fiction, and Urban Fantasy together. This book ju [...]

    5. I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review (Thanks to S.Lee Benedict and the We ♥ YA Books Group)IS SCREAMS FOR A SEQUEL WHICH I CAN'T WAIT TO READ.I loved this book from the beginning to the end. I tried to take my time reading it which was very hard as I struggled putting the book down. It was nearly impossible to do so but it was necessary for me to digest the story in its fullest. I don't want to give away any spoilers so I will try and keep my review spoilerfree [...]

    6. I was impressed with this book right from the very outset. The writing was good, the pacing was good, the characters were well constructed and the setting was great. This is the story of Ezra, a teenager who seems to have the ability to travel astrally to other locations - a 'variant', as is known in this story. Ezra arrives in Rhapp's Barren and starts at a new school and, within days, finds himself involved in a series of brutal murders where the victim's have their hearts ripped out of their [...]

    7. Yay I finished! *happy dance*Ok, so the book starts out with a high school kid name Ezra, who just moved in to this new town, called by many "The Creep," and as he meets more people and becomes friends with a very odd German family he begins to realize that everything is not as it seems. He discovers new abilities in himself and is determined to help solve the gruesome murders occurring in Rhapps Barren. He soon finds out he is in over his head.My thoughts? It started off well. The story carried [...]

    8. I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review. This book was an enjoyable read with good descriptive sentences and better than basic vocabulary. It's hard to write this review without spoilers! The characters are well-developed and likable. The plot is good and makes you want to keep reading. It's a somewhat unique story - a supernatural mystery with teen protagonists. The story is about a boy Ezra who moves to a new city and starts a new school. The part of the city he mo [...]

    9. The Heart Thief is a riveting beginning to what will certainly be an epic series. S. Lee Benedict creates a world that is fantastic and magical yet entirely believable as well. His characters are than mere urban fantasy archetypes - Ezra and Emma are wonderfully written and their bond built upon their shared broken past is sweet and peppered with teenage awkwardness. At the crux, this is good vs. evil and it is done well. It's reminiscent of classic Stephen King (like It) and you'll be hard pres [...]

    10. The Heart Thief certainly won my heart. I was so unsure of this book but, after reading it I have no reason to question the feeling that this book would emit from me. This book is wrapped in magical fantasy that in the end leaves you wanting the next book. The characters are so much fun to read about. Ezra I would say is the main character stole my heart. Emma is also a wonderful character that easily won me over. As this book embarks on magical twists and maniacal uprising I grab a hold of my c [...]

    11. I received a free copy of this book from the author and We ♥ YA Books! in exchange for an honest review. This book tells a paranormal mystery story that from the beginning had me hooked. First it's full of likable characters and different POV, I especially enjoyed Ezra's POV and his relationship with Emma. The story it's well paced and it keeps you the edge of the seat, it mixes fantasy and horror but still manages to keep it believable. If you like comics and Doctor Who (like me) and other rel [...]

    12. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.I really really enjoyed this book, to be honest with the title, i was expecting a soppy underlying love story, but its nice when teenagers are kept teenagers. The characters in this book aren't your typical YA characters, you have a very strong German family, who are so lovable and beautiful. You have broken homes and broken families. I think the only thing that could have made this book better was a back story on what happened to Ezra's brot [...]

    13. Dang was this book good! There are so many reasons I loved this book! The writing was fantastic. It had a great flow and was very fun and easy to read but could also be fantastically descriptive at times sketching out what was going on in the story. The author was really good at changing his tone and diction when the third person point of view changed to a different viewpoint character. Even though it was in third person that had a very distinct flavor and great words that only went with certain [...]

    14. This book is a perfect choice for a reader who likes something a little dark and different. Its got a good solid storyline and brings out some morally complex issues. Can't wait to see what's in line next for these characters.

    16. "Magic, mayhem, and mixed thoughts "Per the author's request, I will include the following statement at the beginning of this review. Disclaimer: I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher, and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.I will say this book is not what I had expected from the description and was somewhat surprised from start to finish. I had believed it would be more a YA coming of age story with some form of fantasy elements with [...]

    17. I was given a complimentary copy of this audiobook for my honest review from Audiobook Boom. The Heart Thief has an intriguing premise and the cover gives it an ethereal feel, so I expected a whimsical paranormal YA. But this isn't too whimsical, and I would say a bit dark and twisted for a YA novel. This book was a gruesome part police procedural with a creepy serial killer, part paranormal with magic and demon realms and mad scientists. The main character Ezra has a special ability that he only [...]

    18. The Heart Thief begins with Ezra Keene starting a new school in Sentinel City. He met Emma when she was showing him where his classes were. While in their classes, they befriend a strange German student, Wolfgang Leichnams. As Ezra is trying to deal with the loss of his brother Tobias, he is dealing with his uncanny talent where any drawings that he drew are coming true. He kept this hidden from his parents and his friends. When people are dying with their hearts torn out of their bodies, Ezra an [...]

    19. The Heart Thief by S. Lee Benedict is one incredible and gripping read! A story of monsters, magic and the possibility of something much worse than death exist. Readers beware this stunning plot will drag you deep into a world in which fantasy and science fiction will bring the horrors and fears that will leave you holding onto your seat tightly. An intriguing tale of how one young man loses his brother and is attending a new school. But then things get much more intense as Ezra wakes up to find [...]

    20. I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review. It might be one of those really confusing reviews.I really struggled with this book in the beginning. Prologue I found difficult to read and to concentrate on what it said. I found it quite irrelevant/unnecessary to the rest of the story, I think there could be a different way to implement this information into the book.As I requested to read it, I felt obliged to keep reading and I'm glad I did. After I "fought" through the [...]

    21. Hang on, because this book is going to make you love macabre and unbelievable things. S. Lee Benedict did a great job in intertwining today's world with the unknown. The characters were developed with thought and made real. I really did not know what I was going to be getting into as I did not read anything about this book except that I liked the cover. So glad I did.R.C. Quartermaine did a fantastic job at keeping the flow of this story listenable. Characters were very distinguishable before he [...]

    22. What a great take on the urban sci-fi/fantasy genre. The characters are well developed and interesting. The villains are positively vile. The writing is perfect for young audiences. The only issue I have is the same issue I have with all stories that require a lot of explanation: there is a fine balance between world building and explaining the world. Benedict walked that line carefully and occasionally fell into the explaining camp, but mostly did a good job at building the world and it's use o [...]

    23. The Heart Thief is an urban fantasy that follows teenage Ezra as he simultaneously adjusts to a new city, new love, and newly discovered magical powers. Ezra must race to gain control of his magical abilities before a maniacal necromancer unleashes Lovecraftian terrors into his world.I particularly enjoyed The Heart Thief's magical action sequences. Whether it's a giant albino spider battling Puritans in an underground cavern (hint, read the first few pages of `the look inside' book preview), un [...]

    24. I was given this book by author and LOP for honest review so here it is ; All in all I did liked this book.I have some issues with it but I liked fast , and action packed story and magic in this book a lot. Writing was good and S.Lee Benedict is great story teller. Things that didn't work for me so much was that most of the time I feel like Ezra is not older than 12 .I'm sure that I will be enjoyed story much more if I could get this image of young school boy out of my head, and I didn't liked l [...]

    25. This was a really interesting book! The mix of real world and the world of magic/supernatural, was different, and I really liked that. There were also supernatural elements that aren't seen as much as witchcraft and magic in books. The narrator, R.C Quartermaine, did a wonderful job giving each of the characters a signature sound or "voice". Some of the more sinister characters were especially well done. This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for [...]

    26. This was an awesome book! This story has a 'Neil Gaiman' feel to it.Ezra is new to town.He befriend a strange foreign boy. They also have a girl in their friend group. As it turns out everyone will be needed to fight the bad magic that has come to call.A necromancer in need of hearts has been following Ezras friend for many years.RC Quartermaine was the perfect narrator.I was given this book for an honest review.

    27. O M G. What a wonderful mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved it. The story is full of suspense. It deals with the use of arcane magic and necromancy. The characters are unique and easy to love and even a few you love to hate. I received this as a contest winner and can't wait to read the next in this installment.

    28. This is one of the few books in which I found all of the "good guys" to be likable, and didn't find that to be annoying. I am really looking forward to the sequel!
