The title says it all.It's a rarity in that's it's not a cook book per se, but a history of the culture of food in China.In this it covers ingredients, cooking utensils, regional differences etc.It also gives menus and recipes for everything from every day food to banquets.In a way it reminds me of the Time Life Foods of the World series, sans glossy photos.There some lovely line drawings and some less lovely b & w photos plus a good biblio at the back.For anyone with an interest in Chinese [...]
