    1. We are traveling to Peru in March, and I'm trying to get some general information about the country's geography, history, and culture. This little book, which I found in the children's room of our library, does a nice general job of covering all these topics. It isn't scholarly, but it's clear, interesting, and nicely illustrated with photos.

    2. I found this in the children's section of my local library and it was surprisingly well done. I really enjoyed it! It's a quick read and nicely covers Peru's geography, wildlife, history, culture, people, government, and current life. Also, the photographs are amazing. The has some of the best pictures of Machu Picchu I've seen and the photos of some less well known places are wonderful too. I enjoyed the book so much that I read some of the others in the same series -- India and Argentina.
